Come on down to JeePee's Spaw in Orange Park, Florida just outside of Jacksonville. We are hosting a Mockup Grooming Competition just in time for Fun in the Sun. 6 weeks out!
We will have two amazing judges Yvonne Aitken and Manessa Donovan. Both are national certified Master groomers with lots of show competition and certification experience.
- Yvonne is a National Certified Master Groomer NDGAA. Open level competitor with several placements in multiple breeds at the top competitions in the country. Proficient in both pet and show trimming of most AKC and UKC breeds. Yvonne currently shows and breeds toy poodles and teaches classes in Jacksonville Florida and around the country upon invitation.
- Manessa Donovan is a National Certified Master Groomer NDGAA. A former director of education at Woof Gang Academy and open level competitor, Manessa now specializes in showing and grooming all handstrip breeds as well as breeding wire fox terriers.
The competition will be split up as follows:
- Day 1: August 18, 2024 (Online 7PM - 8:30PM)
One on One Q&A with Yvonne and Manessa, Competition preparation and etiquette. Will be recorded and provided to contestants.
- Day 2, 9AM: August 25, 2024 (At JeePee's Spaw)
First thing in the morning (9am) will be poodles and anything else scissored or clippered. Kind of like the all other purebreds class but including poodles.
- Day 2, 1PM: August 25, 2024 (At JeePee's Spaw) All Terriers, stripped and scissored, and all Sporting dogs.
Yes these breeds will be judged all together in an effort to help us learn about competition and get everything all in one day.
Additionally, there will be essentially a division for all groomers whether they are brand new or have some competitors. Critiques will be available for everyone who wants them from either or both judges.
